If you are like me, you’ve experienced the rising cost of groceries and necessities. For many this has been exacerbated by the reduction and elimination of COVID relief programs and higher rent. These changes have especially impacted those with fixed incomes and small margins.
There are so many more people diverting food money to other higher costs of living, that we’ve seen a 42% increase in food shelf visits over 2021. Every day, staff and volunteers are helping families who are new to White Bear Area Food Shelf.
There’s good news. When you give to White Bear Area Food Shelf, we can leverage your gift to maximize impact. Through the end of 2022, your gift will be matched dollar for dollar through a Challenge Grant from Bell Lumber and Pole up to $20,000. Thanks to Bell’s generosity, any increased donation above and beyond your 2021 gift by the end of the year will have twice the impact.
On behalf of the many children, families, and seniors we serve every day, I am asking for your generous support. Your donation supports our neighbors as we weather this season together and provide resilience to our community. This work is only possible thanks to your donations, and this year your gift will be maximized to have an even greater impact.
Together serving our neighbors, Perry Petersen, Executive Director
